    Is English not your native language? If you’re aged 16-19 and would like to develop your English skills across reading, writing, speaking and listening, our ESOL course can help you improve your English. With this full-time programme you will study all aspects of English as well as maths. You will also benefit from tutorial time and work experience.

    Study at your own level from Entry 1 to Entry 3. You will be regularly assessed internally throughout the year and there will be a final exam in June. Progression may include a higher level of ESOL or another full-time course or an apprenticeship.

You’ll learn how to create an appropriate learning environment as well as gaining insight into early years learning. You’ll also acquire up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable people from risk.

    We emphasise work experience allowing you to put theory into practice. As part of this course, if you’re a full-time student you will undertake a relevant work placement gaining at least 10 to 12 hours a week of practical experience around your studies.

You can apply to go straight into employment in a uniformed public service following the course or do further studies at University in criminology, law or associated disciplines.
