    Learning the skills to make performers look good under lights and cameras, the Level 3 Media and Theatrical Makeup Study Programme prepares you for work behind the scenes in film, television and a variety of settings. You’ll study advanced hairdressing skills, body art, air brush makeup, theatrical makeup and special effects makeup, learning how to properly apply prosthetic pieces – all the advanced skills that you need in your future exciting career. You’ll also build up wider skills such as communication skills, working as a team, and working with clients and colleagues. You can continue from this course in to a Level 4 Programme such as a HND or Degree, or can begin your career in television, theatre, or as a makeup artist in a salon.

To get you there, the Level 2 Hairdressing Study Programme teaches you a wide range of skills that you’ll be using every day in your role as a hair stylist, from shampooing and how to look after a client’s scalp to cutting, styling and colouring hair. You’ll also learn key employability skills for the hairdressing industry and wider sectors while building up your maths and English abilities. With work experience in a salon or a customer service role, you’ll be well prepared to take the next step on completion of this course. From here, you can go onto work in a salon with an Apprenticeship or as a junior, or go on to further your studies and learn more advanced techniques with our Level 3 Study programme.

    If you’re looking to work in the beauty industry, then the Level 3 Beauty Therapy Study programme teaches you the advanced skills that you will be expected to have. From body and aromatherapy massage through to tanning and Indian head massage, you’ll learn practical skills as well as how to conduct yourself to deliver good customer service in the beauty salon. You’ll do work experience in the beauty industry to put your skills to the test in a professional environment and also take part in our Employability Skills Passport Programme to gain wider skills for the workplace for when you start work. You’ll be prepared to start work in a spa, hotel or salon as a beauty therapist on graduation. If you want to progress in your studies further, you could go onto a HNC/D in Hair and Beauty management.
